Staff Facility

I didn't see how this works exactly, is it like a "restroom" where staff walk in with low energy and a few seconds later they leave feeling refreshed? Is it just a black door they disappear into, with no interior? Would be funny to see entertainers lounging around on couches and drinking coffee [cool]

Is "energy" separate from "happiness"? There should be different sizes of staff buildings at different prices, that increase staff energy quicker or increase happiness if you have the more expensive ones. Is happiness based primarily on wages and training, or will a bored employee still quit?

In Theme Hospital, a small breakroom would not be able to accommodate 20 employees, but employees rested for more than just a few seconds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G0vvbrjlc-A&t=45s

Do rides shutdown if an employee is not at their post? Does low energy increase safety hazards?

Can vendors and ride operators perform both tasks? Maybe could open up more training possibilities

How do we set staff schedules/break times? Is it automatic? Can this be disabled in sandbox mode?

What about "one way" or "staff only" paths?

Also, when a vendor hops the counter they should clean it off with a spray bottle [wink]

Looks like it behaves same way as bathroom/clinic. Their energy meter depletes and they go use the staff room. I doubt rides will function without staff. No idea how long staff stay in there. Good idea with low energy effecting hazard risk. Can we control when they break? Not sure how other staff waiting to fill in those positions work though, are they just hanging out in the staff room the whole time until they're called to fill a position? Are they paid while they're resting/idle? How does the energy meter effect their happiness?

These are all in depth questions you'd expect to be answered at a big expo.

Andrew Chappel said there would be some devstreams where they could go into more detail on how this would work

i'd like to see the ride attendants act the same as other staff [big grin]

It looks like this IS the case! Yay! Check out the staff member approaching the exit of the new flat ride at the beginning of this video...

So do we now hire staff independent from rides and shops? If not, what does this feature really add? During the stream you saw one shopkeeper leave, and immediately another one jumped in his place.

You also saw a shop closing if there was not another worker to replace the one leaving...

I have a feeling each ride/shop will still come with a vendor/operator, but they can leave there post which makes me wonder what will happen to guests in a queue if the operator is tired? Also, will vendors and operators be interchangeable?

They said you will be able to hire additional staff to be able to have them replacing tired staff. I also think it is the queue staff rather than ride operators who will be the ones to leave who are essentially vendors - they have a static position where they sell an item (ride tickets) so personally would expect them to be in a single staff group
