Staff is not very clever in this game

I build two workshops and have two mechanics in my zoo. I realize sometime even when one workshop is empty, the second mechanics will still wait outside the workshop and not go to the second workshop to do the workshop. But if I move the mechanics near the second workshop, he will go to use it. It seems that the game will only direct the staff to use the nearest workshop even that the room is occupied and will not use the empty room.
 
On the other hand if they set it so they would go to an empty one people would complain that they treck across the map and by the time they are halfway there the other mechanic has gone on his break. Not saying your wrong but it may be more logical than you think.
 
That is not really a problem. You can designate which restroom to use, like you can add it to their work zones. They don't have to be smart. :)

I take care of that by workzones... if you make one workzone for one mechanic with one workshop and one place he/she can take rest it's working fine... the other mechanic needs a second workzone with the other workshop you have and the place (or a place) to rest. Since Beta I assign two mechanics that way to only do research and nothing else and it's working very well.
