Standard Beta "coming soon" tm

The sale of the premium beta will end on July 15. The premium beta will continue to live until mid-August, perhaps. This will make three months of existence. This is more than correct. And the backers of the premium beta also have the standard beta, the gamma, the retail version and the expansions. Life is beautiful !

Exactly my thoughts. Probably SB is released in about one month after the end of PB sales.

Worth it? No problem

I'm Premium Beta and it's been well worth it. I've enjoyed the game, bugs an'all.
I've thrown in my 2 bits into the forums for what its worth so feel part of it.
Wether or not ED take on your ideas or not at least you've had a chance to have your say and help towards a great game.
As a bonus I've enjoyed the forums very good banter, constructive ideas & comments for the most part and long may it continue:cool:

For me it is ok, there is no reason for FD to postpone standard beta just to make premium beta guys feel more reasonable.

The premium beta pool of players feels more like an expanded Alpha than anything else to me - a good thing though, if it means the testing gets done how it needs to be :)

I think this is pretty good news, but I'm interested in how the premium guys feel about it? Was it worth jumping in earlier into a huge buggy multiplayer test? Do you feel at all cheated should they start standard beta in a month or so?
Will the standard beta be exactly what the alpha/premium beta guys get?

Considering the expansions pass it's only a little difference with the SB.

I never Pledged at the Premium level for the early access, I did it for the Beta and the expansion packs. also because I was just that impressed with the builds that I wanted to support them in my own little way.

I'm hoping standard beta is sooner rather than later. I want to back the game at that level as its all I can afford, been waiting for this game for 19 years, but if it means waiting a few months extra to get a nice polished game I am all for that.

.. Having played the game as a kid, to see a 21st Century rendition has been a dream till now.The pledge I made got me to premium beta, but to me that's just a bonus having access.

What he said. I gave money because this was the first game (back in 1984) that really showed what the future of gaming would/could be like. And now it is finally here in it's full glory. Maybe I'll live long enough to see the next generation of games created.. but for now this is it.

I am hoping that "they" will be able to induce lucid dreaming and seed that dream with whatever world we/"they" want to play in. If I had the ambition to fail (since it is the only way to succeed) I would get involved in development, but I am lazy and just want to play. :)

see you in the vers

not really, I bought mine in chunks, I bought the game then expansion pass, so it was just another £30 for me so I do not feel cheated in any way, I would rather the game get developed at FD's time scale as to having an extra month of premium beta to keep us happy.

I would assume that standard beta would have alot more open systems well at least I hope so, atm premium beta for me is too crowded and too buggy, roll on the next patch :)

The intitial plans listed 1 month for Alpha, 1 for Premium Beta and 1 for Standard Beta. Therefore, no one is "cheated" by having a Premium Beta of 2-3 months.

More than happy that std beta's coming in soon, don't know why anybody wouldn't want more backers to join in, and let's not forget that they've been waiting a *very* long time past the initial projected start date.

Don't mind when gamma starts, as long as everyone thinks they've got reasonable value from whatever their pledge level was.

Most importantly, I do not want the final release rushed for any reason whatsoever - even if they slip into 2015.
