Standard or bi weave shield?

I've been using a bi-weave shield for ages engineered, and I am wondering weather I would benefit more from the capacity of a standard shield rather than the regeneration of a bi weave what do you think

Depends on what you want to do with your ship. In a hauler like a T-7 or so, I would recommend a standard-shield. In a combat build I prefer a Bi-Weaver, simply because your shields WILL go down during the fight and you don't want to waste too much time running away till you get your pants back up. (always referring in cz-situations...pvp)

Yes.

It depends if you are only concerned about the occasional attack then the strength but slower recovery of the standard module is probably for you, if you are going to be dealing with multiple attacks in close succession then the faster regeneration of bi-weave shields can be an advantage.

I run a mixture but generally my combat craft have bi-weave with the others on standard.

You need to tell us what activities you want to do and what ship you want to use to get sensible advice.

Prismatics for trade, Bi-weave for combat. I had 8 deadly Anacondas after my trade Python last night and it got a little tenuous constantly fighting with one ring, knowing that it would take 12(?) minutes to recharge and the next interdiction was coming moments after resuming course, but they have enough MJ to get through. Long combat sessions however, probably not the best setup.

Just a practical tip. Once your shields are down and enter the regeneration phase they start drawing much more power from the distributor. You probably have to move one pip to SYS otherwise they drain the SYS capacitor slowing down the regeneration. When this happens with bi-weaves it negates their big advantage of fast regeneration. You easily forget this when flying a hybrid build because you are preoccupied with fighting.

Good advice, shields my eagle regenerate faster than 4 pips SYS can provide on a charge enhanced distributor.

Another tip, if your shields drop, and you are not in immediate danger, you can come to a stop and reboot your ship. This will put your shields back online at 50% (unless you move, or take damage), especially handy with prismatics or A-rated shields.
