Star Chart Coordinates

Hello Fellow Explorers

Is there any way to determine the coordinates for a body and to enter them so as to centre the view directly on them? It would be so immensely useful and it has been annoying me for a while now. I thought I'd just ask in case it is one of those things I've missed.

Yes and no. The game stores the precise coordinates of systems that you visit in the log files, and you can look those up either yourself or via third-party programs, like EDDiscovery for example. However, you can't enter coordinates into the galaxy map to center the view there.

I'm not sure what you are aiming for ... but if you select a system (with that orange pin) in the galaxy map, you will see the mark in the sky map ... i used to do that to get different views from the center for exampel.

Thanks, that may be useful.

I do get the rough coordinates from the chart, but its time consuming and a pain in the proverbial. It is also very slow to find coordinates. I do this when plotting a course and would be very useful to just enter them in the search dialogue.
