Star Cubes after the Update?

On my way through the core, and remembered that several patch notes posts had mentioned that the "hard edges" between sky regions and the star cubes near the core had been fixed in one of the latest patches.

Curious what dedicated explorers think. My observation was that edges between regions still seemed to be present, but significantly smoothed out, but I also thought my perceptions could have been affected by what I was expecting to see or not see.

My impression was that the underlying problem was in how the sectors were generated so that a visual blending was perhaps all we could hope for.

Yes, the visuals were improved, because a skybox rendering bug was fixed, but the stars (and sectors) themselves are still the same. The differences will always be visible, it's just less so now.

I was wondering the same when I read the patch notes.
Can someone share a screenshot? I'm not actively playing at the moment.

Previously, if you had a "glitchy skybox" due to the skybox rendering bug, resetting the game (exit to menu and/or full reset) would fix it.

Here's a planet in the Wepooe sector (galactic core), with glitch, before reset:

Same planet, same position, after resetting:

Now, if you've got a "glitchy skybox" with cubes etc, it's usually because the stars themselves are arranged in cubes, and resetting the game isn't going to help. So now, if I go back to that planet in Wepooe, it should always look much like the second picture, no matter how many times I hit the reset button.

I'm currently surveying a sector that straddles the boundary of the Cross of Suppression. The edge of the Cross is a hard line, with plenty of B-class stars outside the Cross and virtually none inside it. Flying from inside the Cross outwards feels (and looks) like I'm driving straight towards a solid wall. I don't think I have any really good pictures of the Wall, but I think I might be able to come up with one.
