Alright, let's get this out of the way first before going any further. This is just for fun for anyone who is willing. I know there have been others in the past who think this should be a paying gig, but as I am not making any money on this (only spending it) I'm only offering anyone their name on the closing credits for helping out.
That out of the way, I'm once again considering auditions for episode 7. I do this mostly because I get sick sometimes of hearing the sound of my own voice and because most of my friends and family are too chicken to give this a try.
So, if you're willing to try, here's a chance to audition for episode 7 of my goofy series.
What I'm looking for is someone to play a very polite pirate. Thoughtful, sincere and no-nonsense. Audition lines will be something like:
Arch-types for this character might be either Mac & Tosh (of Looney Tunes fame) or (as suggested by the Sinister Hedgehog here on the forums) Niles Crane of Frasier fame, but without the pomposity. Regardless of who the character should sound like, he needs to sound genuine and earnest in the things he's saying.
So, if you're interested in giving this a shot, just record the audition lines above to the best of your ability and contact me privately. I'll tell you how to send them to me and then I'll pick the person who sounds like they could do the best with this part. I'll give it a week before I decide. And if I don't pick ya, it ain't 'cause you're a lousy actor.
It would be because you sounded like you could make the character work in the way I want it too. I, for example, can't do a very good Woody Allen.
