Star in the bubble with no 'discovered by' name to it but I can't scan it?

I found a system that consists of a star (a HIP xxxx star) with three planets. None of them have any 'discovered by' tags, but I can't scan them to get my name on them.

Any thoughts?

Errr.. I assume you are expecting your name to appear there after you've scanned it with a detailed scanner? If that so, note that you need to cash in that data first to have that.

Sorry, poor wording on my part. I mean it won't scan. It's as though it's already discovered but there's no name to it. The DSS never even tries...no whirligig despite being more than close enough.

Pity...it had two Amonia worlds orbiting each other.

Edit: in fact I'll open it up - it's HIP 15310. The planets are named (which I suspect is the issue) X-2487, X-2488 and HIP 15310 2

We've been told before by the people who stoke the fires of the great big stellar database that there are significant numbers of undiscovered systems in or very close to the inhabited bubble. It's much harder to find them in amongst all the discovered ones than flying a little way out of the Bubble, so many have presumably remained undiscovered. Well done for finding one!

Just a shame I can't put my name to it. It's named but has no Discovered tag. Odd.

It means these were already known before launch, and part of the interstellar database. 'Sol' for example isnt named either, we already knew it was there for a while. ;)

names without tag-> known from launch
named with tag -> discovered before you, but after launch
unnamed without tag -> grab it while its hot!

Hmmmm okay, rolled out the GalMap and checked it out. Appearantly I've never visited that system but I have the data for that system and I was able to launch up the Local System Map, which was showing me the star and the planets with all it's names and details listed next to it. It looks like this system is one of those non-scanable and already avaible systems perhaps?

On a sidenote, on the GalMap the properties of that system show as;
Allegiance : Federation
Population : 0
Goverment : Confederacy
State : None
Economy : Tourism

Yeah, a little suspicious.
