Star systems with only a star? Any way to discover more?

Hello, I arrived to Ross 142 and found only a star in the system, there's any way a system I didn't explore don't have stations or am I missing anything?

Thanks,
Christobal.

Have you scanned the system with the Advanced Scanner?
.
If it's an active system then follow any NPC's if they seem to be going in a particular direction.
.

If you are just starting, buy exploration data for systems while docked at a station. (From inside the galmap-you will see this option as a drop down in the map menu) When you can afford it, buy a discovery scanner, and later an advanced one. Safe travels!

If you have an advanced discovery scanner and fire it once, you will see all planets, if there are any. If it's inhabited, there will be at least one, but you might not know it yet.

There are exceptions to this rule too. :)

For example Crom system, 15000 inhabitants, star and Outpost only.

There are many stars, even quite close to Sol, that are uninhabited, with no stations or outposts or anything. Some are uninhabited because they have no planets; others because all the planets there are barren, desolate iceballs with no resources to mine.

So far in my travels exploring, I have come across the following:

Systems with 1 Sun 73
Systems with 2 Suns 76
Systems with 3 Suns 32

These are systems with no other bodies. Just Suns. 1 and 2 sun systems make up around 10% of the systems discovered so far which totals 758

There are also systems that contain 1 sun and 1 body, sometimes a gas giant and sometimes a rocky body. The range of systems out there is immense. The more you systems you visit, the more diverse they become.

There are probably at least 30 million systems with only 1 star

Take look at the galaxy map, zoom out, now 0.001% of that is the Human Bubble!

Some systems have over 20 stars! - Explore! :D
