General / Off-Topic Star Trek done, what next?

I have seen Earth: Final Conflict, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica and Atlantis. After finishing Star Trek Enterprise I had to see the Voyager series because of the ending in Enterprise.

Does anyone have tips for similar TV shows?

The Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy

If you're looking for something science-fiction-like instead of just spaceship-like then there's "Sliders"

Deep space 9. Darker than every other Star Trek series and IMHO more interesting.

Watching Andromeda now but it is not exactly my cup of tea

I saw several seasons of stargate, but it was not to my liking.

Never heard of Deep space 9, will definitely check that out. Same with Andromeda, Babylon 5 and Sliders. Never liked Firefly, i dont know why.. Also watched Dr. Who, but got bored.

Thanks for tips!! :)

Babylon 5, need to get past the first series though, or for real old sci-fi dating from original Elite time, Blake's 7.

haha, figured someone would react to that :) I guess I can give Firefly another chance.. Must be something good about it since so many like it:)

Blakes' 7 noted.

Thanks guys!! Keep the tips coming if you have more "ammo" ;)

Have you tried Torchwood? It's pretty good and the final (3rd, not the american 4th, that... doesn't exist) season (well i say season, more mini season) is wicked.

You could try Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes. It isn't really sci fi, but without giving too much away it involves time travel. It is very good. Lexx in another good show, very Farscape in its visual feel. The Battlestar Galactica remake and Caprica are worth a watch. Terminator the Sarah Connor Chronicles are very good, but the end leaves you wanting much more. Fringe is another good show. I wasn't that keen on the first series but I was glad I stuck with it. The last series was cancelled then brought back as a mini series so some of the ideas feel a little rushed.

Not a series, but have you seen Outlander? Produced by Chris Roberts. I really enjoyed it.

Back Episodes of East Enders?

I particularly like the episode where Danny Dyers character tried to wreck the UEE Walfords warp drive.

I know, right? He said he watched ST: Enterprise?! And he doesn't like Firefly???!!! :p
lmao:) I will most def. give it another go.

I could never have guessed I would watch star trek, ever.. But here I am. And it's an eye opener. And now I just feel like getting all the shows you guys have mentioned.

Suggestions noted Jabba, thx :) I believe I saw one season or two.

Life on Mars I have seen, that was not a bad show I must say. But I'm looking for a bit more explorer kind of show. Really like star trek, all the races they create, many funny characters indeed! All the exploring they do and so on.. The remake of Battlestar G. I never did see, it died off after final season for me, and I never bothered to watch anymore. will check it out though, times have changed ;)

@ Sage Stark. Oh, Chris Roberts made Outlander.. Will def. check it out! And, East enders? I thought that was just a joke on Surfinjo's part :p

@Amaze, thx! Will check those out also.

Great response people, I thank all of you.

Seeing as previous posters have already talked about the more exploration focused series, I'll recommenced a pair of sci-fi shows outside that spectrum but still worth your consideration. First off there's Cowboy Bebop, which has has an excellent story, dynamic characters, and bar none the best soundtrack I have ever heard in a work of fiction. After that I'd recommend Space: Above and Beyond, which goes with a more militaristic tone that really adds a new dimension.

Oh and if you find yourself enjoying Outland you might think about trying Star Cops, which has a very similar feel.

Duly noted :) Appriciate it, thanks!

Check out "Space: Above and Beyond". Pretty bizarre how so many good series don't last, and this one only got a series.

There are also some amazing space-themed "Outer Limits" episodes from around that the mid 90's.
