Firstly, apologies to the Mods if this has already been mentioned on the forum. I did a search beforehand and drew a blank. However, if there is another thread then please feel free to close this one.

Now that's out of the way,
It has come to my notice via the SSC, of a game under development called Stardrop.
It's focus is on boarding derelicts in space and attempting to salvage or rescue what or who (presumably) you can. Its all done via first person.
Here is a demo video below. Looks quite spooky in places...

The devs (Team V) had previously attempted a kickstarter campaign but it failed. However, they refused to give up and have started a new funding campaign from their own site here.

Downloaded and played through the demo. It has heart, and the concept of exploring derelict ships is compelling. However I don't think it's going to be a successful project. Some kickstarters/demos/EAs are just scraps of code, but you can see immediately that they have promise and something will develop over time. This game unfortunately didn't give me that feeling, although I really wanted to like it.

Fair enough Hellhawk666, but to me it takes guts to come back after a failed kickstarter. It shows (to me at least) it's devs still have a desire to get the game made...somehow. For what it is worth I hope they keep at it as there is very few games out there focused on the search & rescue role and even less with a space setting. :)

Team V Have Another Go At Kickstarter

Team V have started another Kickstarter for Stardrop, details here with a funding goal of $12,000.
Plus they have a new trailer out with more on the kickstarter site also.

Free Mission Available For Stardrop

Team V have kindly released a full stand alone mission on their Kickstarter page for everybody to try. It's called Echoes and is Christmas themed, it's also available in both 32 & 64 Bit versions. You can download it regardless if your a backer or not. Currently they are approaching the half way point to their funding goal of $12000 with 17 days left of their campaign.

Last Call For Stardrop

Team V have almost reached the end of their funding campaign managing to reach $11,335 of their funding goal of $12,000 with 4 days to go.
