I just assumed they all have those LCD darkening systems like modern fancy welding masks. Just don't ask me why it still works when your windshield is smashed...

I thought the pilot doesn't have a face shield on except when there's no atmosphere. Either way, I suppose there's no reason why they both can't have the reactolite glass
