Starfighter Tries Again

Backed as well. With a low amount for the time being, but they show some decent demo footage.

The mouse+keyboard thing isn't much of an issue imo. Even in Elite Dangerous, you can achieve as equal to better results with fixed weapons using M+K compared to a HOTAS. Once you've reconfigured the godawful default bindings, that is.

It's simply the interface that every PC gamer has available and it's very, very unwise to not include decent support for it out of the box unless you're a hardcore sim targeting people who are willing to spend some hundreds of dollars for input hardware first. You most likely aren't if you're targeting a free to play model.

Very much hope this gets through successfully, but they may have missed the space revival hype train. Seems they'd do better having the big Chris Roberst as headliner, than somebody who actually worked on the X-Wing games. :p 55 hours to go, nearly 2500 backers, $139,890.

Well, I see nothing at stake here. The game is going to be finished and released even if the Kickstarter fails again.

Some developers just try using KS for hauling in some kind of "guaranteed" initial sales. They are not going to abandon everything for falling a few thousand dollars short.

Next stage we will see it's going to appear on Steam Early Access.

Life is hard if you don't want a publisher. But there is no reason bear their risk as a gamer. My recommendation: Only spend money on finished products, which turn out good.

Funding levels have been accomplished. If you want to get on board, you have 27 hours to do so before the KS ends.
I'm in no hurry and happy to wait for its final release in 2018. The concept sounds interesting, but first I'm going to watch if it actually becomes an enjoyable game.

Aye interested for sure.

Didn't back though, what puts me off is all the talk of realism + the $25 entrance fee.

It is fine to promise ultra-realism, but many have made this error in the space genre, delivering it is another matter entirely.

Ultimately it's a game and you cannot escape that.

Will likely buy once it's out though, if it's any good.

Good luck to 'em, I am glad it made its goal. :)
