Greetings everyone.
You may not know us but we used to have a very successful podcast for Eve Online and our own audio drama, the Isk Bucket. After a break we re-launched and now primarily cover Artemis: Spaceship Bridge Simulator. This is something we plan on continuing but we also recognise we sporadically cover other subjects too.
Thinking about diversifying seems to lead to us having a bit of an identity crisis every time something cool and shiny comes along and we ask soul searching questions such as, “should we really talk about this game in the podcast?” and “should we re-brand the podcast?”, (please, not again!)
So rather than do all of that hand wringing and pacing I have decided unilaterally that we will talk about Artemis, other spaceship bridge simulation games that come along and spacey games in general with a dollop of Elite Dangerous. Hence this post being here.
It’s all very well saying that but we want to make sure that you have engaging content, not just some guy waffling on about his latest plaything. Er. So that’s where you all come in.
Gavin and I need fresh perspectives and fresh blood. We all hate work, right? Yeah. But worry not! This is purely voluntary and therefore fun.
What we need is someone who is available for about three/four hours a month to research their own segment and record with us. Our availability is usually governed by UK GMT/BST time zones (weekend or weekday evenings are the usual recording times, arranged well in advance) and wherever you are from in the world you’ll need to be able to work with that. You’ll also need Skype, a trouble free, good quality internet connection, a good microphone (preferably with a pop filter) and a face for radio. A Google account is a plus.
So, if you fancy taking part in the podcast, have the ability to work with us for a few hours a month and have the patience of a saint then please let us know. Tell us about yourself and what you’d be interested in talking about by emailing podcast@starfleetcomms.com.
