Would be cool to have small bubble areas like colonia all over the galaxy , and a stargate type device that enables ships to instantly teleport from one bubble to the other. This will allow us to fill in some of the the dead space throughout the galaxy.

The hyperdrive ships have is already a stargate of sorts that uses witchspace as a shortcut to travel immense distances within the galaxy.

The stargate you described is only useful for ships that don't have a hyperdrive and currently, all ships in ED have one.

This will allow us to fill in some of the the dead space throughout the galaxy.

This would allow us to only visit the bubbles and ignore the rest of the galaxy making the game less flexible and interesting.

It's like a small country town, nice, peaceful and everyone is inbreed. It's doesn't need improving
