Starmap: Mouse over stars interferes with interacting with the map

When using the mouse to navigate the star map, you have the star tooltip popup in your face all the time, obstructing other stars.
I have seen this approach in some other games, I have even seen it in development in an Anno 2205 alpha build, where it was reverted.

I think it should be considered to place the tooltip into a dedicated UI space on the bottom right of the screen. Just like tooltips in strategy games work most of the time (Civilization, Anno, Endless Series etc.).

By having a dedicated place on the screen for the tooltip, it does not "surprise" the user when it moves around and it also doesn't obstruct the interaction area where you want to click stuff in the center of the screen.

I also seen other threads, like this one
https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/mouse-friendly-maps-interface-please.448148/
but didn't want to necro it, and just suggest a simple solution. Having the tooltip in the lower right and on a fixed spot.

Cheers,

PS:
Basically it would look like this:

You will be pleased to hear they have removed it altogether in the new Galaxy Map for Odyssey.

Oh God!!!

You have no idea how much i miss the hovering in System and Galaxy Maps, as it was in Horizons
You have no idea how much i miss the way information was presented in the Sys and Gal Maps in Horizons
You have no idea how much i miss the quick action bar that was attached to the cursor. in Horizons

Odyssey has some improvements in both Gal and Sys maps, but overall, the features i miss are weighting in heavier than the new things i got in EDO.

I do miss the ease of adding and removing bookmarks in the Horizons Galmap with one click in the tooltip bar, on the other hand we can now just copy the selected system name directly from the galmap, so I certainly wouldn't want to lose that functionality

Weird (or maybe not), i do find the way bookmarks were working in Horizons better than the way they do in EDO.
I mean, yea, we got a long scroll line, but:
  • the scroll was fast enough
  • one could use an opening character or grp of characters to sort bookmarks by name (i used . for bookmarks i wanted on top of the list and various 1-2char tags for the rest, E for engineers, M for mining, Ma for materials, etc)

I find navigating the sections of bookmarks in EDO much more harder and time consuming, especially since EDO sometimes mixes sections and i have Engineers bookmarks in System section instead of Planetary section.
However, i do like the favorites parts of the bookmarks, but as i said - i could have my own favorites too in Horizons - so generally speaking, EDO is not the uncontested winner, not even when it comes about bookmarks

Copy/Paste - hell yea (nice to have on PC, but my XB account is a bit confused by it)

Yeah I'm a bit conflicted over the bookmarks myself, there are many things that are better, but it's not a very...how can I put it...efficient I think is the word, UI. I almost never select a bookmark from the actual bookmark menu, in fact I can probably say I never have, that's simply not the way I use it!
