starppint gemini is on xbl sale this week.

Has anyone played it? Being a space game I'm very much interested but at the same time put off because it's not elite. It has the try it free but I'm not sure I'll be able to before the sale is up. How does it stack up?

It has a 60minute free trial.

Also, since this isn't Elite related you'll be seeing the thread locked or moved, sorry.

(most likely moved)

Thanks for this I struggled to choose between rebel galaxy and starship gemini and went with rebel (not bad but very samey after a while)

Yeah, I know. Was hoping to get some opinions before that happens. I will try and okay the trial before Tuesday and make my own though if people think it's worth it.

It looks quite similar to that. Apart from being Samey (you could say the same about elite lol) how's the gameplay?

It's not bad the strangest thing about it is even though it's in space it plays on a 2D plane and the combat is like old navel battles with a lot of broadsides. Its a good side game (if that makes sense) the missions are varied and good fun.
BTW just to be clear I'm taking about rebel galaxy.

Agreed about rebel galaxy.

As for starpoint Gemini 2, think I'm gonna grab it. It looks to have a ton of depth. After getting used to combat my favorite thing in the trial was sending boarding crews onto pirate vessels and capturing them to sell at the nearest port. It's kind of like elite dangerous with rpg elements, with the exception that you command a capitol ship and manage officers and the like. The ship power management isn't as fast to change on the fly as elites but ya can't have everything I guess. You can also have fighters but I didn't get around to checking those out.

All in all I enjoyed it, if you get the time to check out the demo, go for it.
