Stars are too bright in 2.2

Yes, that 2nd image is what I'm seeing! - can't post my own screenshot as I'm on mobile.

Personally, I liked seeing the details inside of a star - it's a view we'll never see with the naked eye which is why I like it. All that plasma rolling around in there was cool. Now they're a blob of muggy light :(

If I change my gamma or bloom settings will that affect being able to see the star in hyperspace? I recall reading a thread in the beta section that said switching something like FX to low got rid of the excess bloom on stars but it also removed the approaching star while in hyperspace.
I don't have bloom on high and do see the star in Hyperspace. But either way, trying doesn't huirt you can always switch back.

I am torn.

On one side the lore tells us : the windows and or visor dims the sun light to a more bearable degree. but its not perfect and stars stay bright.

On the other : stars being bright is fun to me. and makes it feel more like a real star.

I do think its something that could do with a options on the side ''sunscreen protection :X%'' like with the GUI brightness
Or simply add a wonderfull .INI option ''sun brightness'' so those who want it bright can set it brighter , those who want it darker could do so.

.INIs often fix everything

But beyond that , what moniter do you have? what settings do you use on it? and what is your in game gamma and your moniter brightness/gamma levels.

The suns are brighter in 2.2 but I have not seen it to be over the top , but that could be just me

It's so bright it's even drowning out the target display marker and text. In a way that takes me out of the game more so that if the star was dim enough to see the plasma roiling about because the UI itself is being drowned out - it's like seeing a mic in shot when watching a movie in my opinion. I'm going to monkey around with the settings to see if I can't reduce the sheer amount of overexposure going on.

I think it is as a few others have stated in regards to monitor difference and gamma... I have heard a few people say they are a lot brighter now than before. However, I use a new 34" 144htz gaming monitor and they do not look any different at all to me than they did a week ago. So surely it has to be a graphical setting that was used pre 2.2 and now they have changed/fixed something.

I'd even go brighter but I'm a masochist.

I think the high contrast transition from facing nuclear fireball to the blackness of space would be pretty epic.
