Stars Sense of Scale

Without VR, it's very difficult to convey the sense of scale of things.
Stars can be particularly massive, but we generally drop out at a distance that makes them look the same size as a small star.
The only info we have is our speed and distance from it.

My suggestion, is to shrink the exclusion zone down closer to the surface and move the "drop zone" down on larger stars so when you jump in, they fill the entire screen, and beyond. Heat levels might need to be adjusted so you don't burn to a crisp immediately, but this would make massive stars, feel massive, because you'd almost be landed on the thing.
