Starshatter: The Gathering Storm

Did anyone else play this when it was out?

Although some elements felt under developed, it was a brave attempt at mixing fighter and capital class combat in the same game. I really felt that the dev nailed the capital class elements. Huge lumbering ships, slow to turn, packed with all kinds of firepower.

I still crave a game that delivers fleet combat on a huge scale, where strategy matters.

I remember it , but it did seem nobody ever played the game. Also the fighters died so fast , that you couldn't say in combat very long and bang you where dead

I was drawn to it due to the dynamic campaign. I still play it from time to time. It is a bit too difficult fro the modern gamer. Too many moving parts and expanding your military operations.

I still play too, from time to time. It´s release now for free. Still a great game. Seamless transiction from space to surface and capital ships combat. Unique.

Is shat even aloud on here? Where I'm from if you shat you had a 2. So for me this is totally not appropriate a title.

Absolutely loved the game - a space-sim inspired by Falcon 4, that plays like a 3d version of Harpoon? What's not to like? :) Pretty interesting story too that looked like it could have gone places in any sequel. Shame it seemed to die just after 'The Gathering Storm' was released. :(

Did have some flaws (e.g. carrier landing AI always seemed a bit bugged, and the cap ships having exploitable weaknesses in their systems that once you figured them out made the game quite easy).
