Starting New Commander Account

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I haven't found anything similar to answer my query.

I've been playing this gem for a good while now and my brother is finally as obsessed as I am. Only thing is, I'm tired of him leaving wrappers around the ship and spilling Cola on my panels.

Is there any way for him to start a new Commander's account without purchasing the full $59.00 game download? I already have Elite downloaded on both my Desktop and Laptop (originally for my profile).

As far as I know, the cost of the game is how Frontier makes the money to fund ongoing work to E: D.
Its free to play, but you have to buy the game first. Much better than a monthly sub.

Go for it. Just buy the new account (use different email address) and keep the ship tidy!

If your game is on Steam, and you both have accounts, try Steam Family Sharing. It allows family members to play one another's games while earning their own Steam achievements and saving their own game progress to the Steam Cloud. It's all enabled by authorizing shared computers and users.

But, I've never tried this for ED myself, so don't blame me if your Commander gets permanently wiped.

Its not steam. I've had this since the Alpha phase.

I don't mind paying (or making him pay rather) for the game. I just wasn't sure if there was a way to purchase (for any cheaper) a new account/ code since the game is already downloaded.

Didn't think there was but figured it was worth a shot.

Doesn't work, because you still need an Elite Dangerous / FD account to actually play. Steam runs the launcher, where the steam user then gets the regular login options.
