Starting over with 2nd account

I was going to follow this for the most part:
Masarks Guide

And probably take the R2R alternative path. Maybe as a pure explorer so my main account can stay in the bubble.

Any other suggestions for a 2nd account?

I'm also considering a second account, that discount is pretty sweet.

Running ironman though? Heh, I'd be resetting my save all the time. :)

My suggestion.. man up! wipe the first account and start over! I do it every time I hit Elite or get killed! The best of this game is to be had when money actually means something.

Oh, I am a man, 4 kids fathered by me (That i know off, being in the Royal Navy and all that travelling, Wars, drinking and sexual diseases Hmmm ! ), but as much as i want to, grinding again for the engineers and engineering tends to leave me with a gut wrenching YOU BLOODY DARE feeling!

I have a second account to play the evil side of me, so i have sucked up to the Grind twice now, i am considering a third account to go exploring after this loverly update, but he/she will only do the minimum required to Explore.

I would do R2R until I got an Asp X and then hit Robigo for passenger missions.

To get a hauler with an ADS/DSS drop into a RES of some sort and ping the ships being attacked by security to get the bounty.

That'd be the fastest way to get credits IMO.

I have three accounts and unlocking the engineers is the biggest pain each time. Credits come pretty easy.

This is where I'm leaning as well. Sometimes I just want to be out there in the black exploring the vastness of the galaxy, discovering wonders that no one else has found. But the travel requirements back and forth to the bubble for various activities prevents this.

At this moment, I think I'll unlock the G5 FSD for extended distance. I can't think of anything else an explorer will need from the engineers.

I might go with the DBX. I already did long range exploration in the AspX and conda.

I've started a number of alt-CMDRs - can't seem to bring myself to ever reset a CMDR....

I usually run data missions / very light cargo until I can afford a DBX (remembering to keep all of the loaned modules of the StarterWinder so that it can be put back to 0 Cr. rebuy outfit), unlock Elvira, apply FSD increased range, buy an ADS, do the 5,000 LY out (then back too) to unlock Palin, sell the exploration data at Sirius Corporation controlled docks (to gain the Sirius permit) then unlock Qwent and Palin.

After that it's save up for an AspX, then Krait (was Python), then either Python or Anaconda - principally for cargo / passengers.

Just try doing things differently.

My 2nd account is working on getting each of the Elite ranks. But separately . So reach combat Elite while ensuring that Trade and Exploration both remain at 0%. Clear save then work on Trade. Clear save then do exploration.

Or,

Only deal with the Fed's ot the Allaince or the Imps (once you've been able to get yur ship into their space at least....

or....

What ever you do, don't just keep doing what you were doing on your primary account. Other wise you may as well just of cleared your save.

Have fun Cmdr... :)

Yes Krash, this ^^

I probably will choose the Cobra III, but not too sure yet! Just bought my 3rd account. 16 of England's finest pound notes is a bloody bargain. Gonna need a few Dashboard bobbles to keep me company outtin the black ;)

I don't know, doing my engineer grind on my second account seems to be much easier than the first time around.

Yes 2nd account is quicker, as you know the tricks, but on the 3rd account.....errr NO! FSD will be the only one i think will be needed for the Exploration account, even then i don't really need that!!

I so want to do this too. When I do i'll follow my own advice. Make 12m credits outfit a dbx for exploring (40ly without any engineering), and head out 5kylies in a random direction (more first discoveries than heading toward popular nebulae). That fulfills the Palin unlock requirement, makes a good deal of money and you'll have Explo data to unlock Farseer and get allied with the required minor factions for other engineers (yoru, for example) without doing a single mission. Yup, an immediate 5k exploration trip kills a lot of birds with one stone.

I started on my 2nd account last night, "Flit Numinor", bounty hunting the nav beacon of my starter system in a stock sidey. Its difficult to describe that feeling, but its been a very long time since I was so happy to collect on a 120k bounty. That really changes things for noob on her first day haha.

Snap, exactly the same as you! Did you experience the Seal Clubbers in Eravate? What a buzz it is to do this again. Made some big Noob errors as well Doh! took a mission to an 18Ly away system, yer i thought thats just next door!! Not in a Sidey with an E rated FSD 57 Jumps!!!! Dumped that mission doh!

I want this cmdr to have the lowest Combat rank i can keep him at, so am avoiding the easy res site sniping.

But have to say am lovin it and can't wait to get back online with him tonight, until the FD Live Stream that is. Was gonna use a DBE, but after FD's announcement that the 3 Saud Kruger ships are having their restricted comps removed for ordinary one, i am thinking Dolphin!!
Never flown one so will need to try it out.

Well Done Krash for taking the plunge. It is a great Buzz again isn't it?

My recent alt-CMDR has c.350M Cr. in assets and has neither bought fuel nor fired a shot at another ship (rocks are fair game, however). :)

I aspire to be a mirror of your Cmdr. Rep for never firing a shot, not sure i can go that far, but i did run from a Pirate Hauler, but i did deploy my 2 peashooters ;)

Indeed. My goal is to work the R2R, outfit a Krait for exploration with minimum engineering and guardian tech; which I think should yield around 50ly jump range. Then have that ready by the time the new changes are pushed into Live servers and go exploring, long term.
