Starting over......

So I picked up my copy of Elite Dangerous on Tuesday and so far I'm loving it :) Completed the tutorials and jumped in and completed my first data mission. I then decided I wanted to start over and deleted my game save however when I start over at the port it states that I have a critical mission update! I check my nav panel and sure enough there is a data mission in the transactions tab?

Anyone else came across this?

That will be the Welcome Commander Mission that everyone is supposed to get when starting a new game. It gives you a few CR for a simple delivery mission and introduces a few more contacts to try out mining, combat etc.

Yeh that's what is supposed to happen, I never got this message for some reason. Weird. Maybe it knew I had played before (it didn't of course).

Ah thanks willowfan. I don't seem to remember seeing that message when I started on Tuesday either. Should this data show up in invertory?

The joys of Elite! It's been a while since I was out in the black. I'm only about 20 or so years ring rusty [haha]

No data deliveries don't show as cargo. I always assumed you were carrying it on a USB stick (or 34th Century equivalent) in a flight suit pocket. :)
