Powerplay Starting Powerplay questions?

Just started PP (Denton Patreus), 4 days in and have 3000+ merits and before I pay the high price of getting enough merits to obtain Rank 5, I thought I'd get some clarification on how progression works in PP.

Is there a waiting period to advance to rank 5 or is it solely based on # of merits earned during the previous week i.e., when Thursday role over happens will I get the weekly bonus of 50M credits and an increased PCAs/30min to 50?

I know the Advanced PA requires a full 4 week clock to run out before I can purchase any weapons, but everything I've seen/read (forum guides/you-tube) suggest there is no wait time to obtain rank, only earn enough merits.

If PP restricts advancement to one level per week what would be a good strategy to get to rank 5 the quickest?

Appreciate any observation/recommendation on undermining and or expansion actions; I'm only Combat Deadly (20%) so somewhat hesitant trying to take on real pilots (non-NPC) who are most likely going to be winged up. Up to now have only been supporting Control via Imperial Cutter (720T) running supplies to two stations--pushing one over the trigger to successfully fortified.

I have been playing in Open more often than not, but have not winged up yet with anyone (Xbox One X w/HOTAS-TFRP and Turtle Beach headset w/Mic).

If you earn enough merits to reach rank 5, after PP tick on Thursday you will be listed as rank 5. You don't have to progress through each level but after every PP tick half of your merits decay. You become rank 5, and can claim the salary for your previous rank (1000cr if you just started). You are paid after spending 7 days at that rank, so after the next PP tick you can claim your 50mil salary. You need to top up your merits each week to maintain the rank you want.

Have a look at the Patreus reddit page, powers often list objectives or a link to their community on discord etc.

Thanks for the link, not sure how discord works using Xbox, but am willing to try (also have a PC account, but having too much fun with 5B and 34 ships so PC is on hold for now).

Went ahead with the plan to push past 10K merits and got to fortify 2 on my own and supported some others exceed 101% on another. Now trying to get my CRs built back up running trade missions for rep and CRs out of Denton's capital. Still not sure what the best strategy is to maintain Grade 5 without pushing the quota using CRs, but will watch some more You Tube vids on PowerPlay and am sure I will come up with something. o7 Cmdrs for the response, fly fast and be dangerous.

In either case, Patreus has specific systems that we need people to fortify, systems we don't want you to fortify, and expansions or enemy control systems we need to undermine or oppose. Even if it's just on your phone, discord will give you access to a lot of important information on how to best help the power. Denton is always looking for new people!

Even if Patty don't qualify for the best power of all I must admit that they are utmost friendly and nice guys and their discord is certainly one of the best organized - if not the best organized.

Okay, so I joined discord and am trying to find where the Patty followers info is resident, any help is appreciated. Thanks for the mentoring, got Rank 5 and the 50 quota which will help fortification process immensely. Will do; researching the discord app and how to connect/link to Xbox One X and my cell. Will also learn how to ask questions via discord, but for now will stick with FD forum (no learning curve).

Made enough merits today to maintain R5 status in PP; you were correct, maintaining is way easier than establishing R5 (50 quota is much faster than 10).

1. First run to CF 464 I got interdicted by a Yuri Grom; allowed the interdiction because he was only ranked master. No issues taking him out close to the station. He initiated attack (I absorbed the first shot), he showed wanted/enemy and I collected the wanted bounty. Question: I did not become/show wanted but now have a Yuri Grom 11K bounty, not seeing any notoriety, but when I tried to clear/pay the bounty at an IF I could not find any bounties registered. Is this what they call a Powerplay bounty? Is there a way to clear, or any need to clear?

2. I also am curious what happens if you are destroyed/killed in combat (expansion effort, etc.); do you lose any/all merits currently held? Before I engage any combat missions or attempt expansion efforts I'd like to understand the risks.
