Engineers Starting questions

Hi guys, just discovered engineers, felicity farseer was able to extend my jump range noticeably.

can you help me with some basic questions:
1. How can I tell what modifications I've done? I can't seem to keep track and there doesn't seem to be a convenient screen or way to track?
2. If I get destroyed do I lose my modifications or do I get them back on a rebuy?

thanks in advance!

If you go into the outfitting screen and select a module, there's an option to view any modification attached to it.

You don't lose any modifications when you get destroyed. The only way to lose one is selling a module its attached to or clicking 'remove modification' in outfitting (careful not to do that by mistake while you're looking at the stats, by the way).

Got it, thanks! Quick follow up question, do modifications stack? Now I have discovered Elvira Martuuk and she can also increase my jump range. If I modify with her does it add to the farseer modification to further increase range or do I lose the first one?
thanks!

They don't stack, but higher level mods are generally better than lower level ones.

You can use an online shipyard to check the consequences of your engineering works... ED Shipyard and Coriolis.io are popular choices. They are useful to check also prices, and you can even save your configurations, tune precisely with the ingame engineered values...

OP: thumbs up for dealing with all the pluses and numbers [up]

Some people who have problems with all the scientific stuff seem to demonize the engineers entirely

Got it, thanks again! Yes I had discovered the "new" Coriolis site several weeks ago when I realized the old one didn't show fighter bays for my Keelback!

In outfitting, when you look at the different modules installed into your ship, if a module has been modified by an Engineer the module brief should show a "hex-nut" symbol next to its name which indicates the module has been modified. Opening the Detail section of the module brief displays the actual level and type of modification that has been performed on the module.

WARNING! Modules absolutely CAN be destroyed if your ship is blown up and you either cannot afford to, or elect NOT to Rebuy.
