Startport Time Setting

I had Elite installed on a previous hard drive when it first got released. Since then I have moved onto a couple Hybrid Drives and it performs much slicker now. My games are on a 2nd partition on the Primary Drive. One thing that is different is the Startport Time is 1hour behind GMT (I am in UK). My PC uses daylight changing and is correct except Elite does not follow it. Is there a way to correct it instead of waiting until the end of October?

Not that bizzare. The aviation world does that globally, which can be interesting when you are on the other side of the world lol.

Based on the cycle of the Sun, I wonder how they will agree on a clock time in future when doing what we do in Elite. On Star Trek they even had a Night Duty for Ensign Kim! Would humans still require 7 hours sleep or perhaps revert back to the days of multiple short cycles 100yrs ago.

Universal time, just like what's used now.

You only need to set your clocks by the sun to conform to those around you, or if you rely on the day/night cycle.

Total amount of sleep needed for humans is and will likely remain relatively fixed for quite some time, barring things like genetic engineering. It doesn't need to be contiguous, and often isn't, though assigning a contiguous block is easier for scheduling shifts and such.

I still average 7-9 hours of sleep a day, but my sleep cycles range from 90 minutes to 12 hours, with 3-4 hours being typical.
