station Atmospheres

As we have seen, beyond the stations 3 glowy energy field in the letter box there is an atmosphere.
I am guessing it is a STP to allow easier loading and unloading of ships or maintence work that needs to be done by hand.
Your ship, if iced up, does normalise in temperate when you enter the Airlock.

But is the Atmosphere breathable?
If it is, with the exhausts from the ships, (Hydrogen plasma?)and other compounds that come in from the not true vacuum of space, would it be very unpleasent.

I could imagine dock workers needing masks, eye and ear protection.

Nice to see the HSE is still operating in 3300 ;-)

It's a good point tho, I only recall mention of the 1/10th gravity, not the other environmental factors.

Assuming ships in ED are powered by fusion engines utilizing hydrogen, their exhaust would consist of leftover hydrogen and helium. The hydrogen would quickly react with whatever it finds in the atmosphere, for example oxygen to water vapor, and the helium is harmless. Ignoring unstable isotopes (don't know which ones are produced by hydrogen fusion) and radioactivity, as long as you don't inhale the exhaust directly, the atmosphere should remain quite breathable and not require any special equipment to operate in.
