Hello, this is my first OP post so if I don't describe my idea well enough for someone to understand please just let me know and I'll try to improve.
So the general concept is that rather than have any SLF capable ship bring a cargo shuttle with around with them stations and more preferably outposts will have non FSD capable shuttle craft either similar in size to the Sidewinder, or perhaps half the size. This would be useful in that it would act similar to if you docked in or on the station/outpost and for outposts allow the large ships to take their missions, contrary to docking however the use of these shuttles is an actual payed for service (in-game payment) and every transaction (fueling, cargo delivery to and from the docking area, etc) has an added fee as such a large ship while now capable of using some of the options available at outposts can't make the same profit as their smaller counterparts.
This could work as a first step in allowing players to trade goods by docking to each other rather than either specific positioning or the drop and collect method and cargo transfer will work similarly to the SRV to Ship menu compared to the commodities market. The option would then be available as well for ships around a normal sized station that is full of ships and as such allow external access.
Tell me what you think as I'm open to differing ideas and suggestions or even negative responses so long as it isn't one that essentially says "because that's the way it is now."
