Station cargo storage and Cargo remains in ship Feature

Don't know if this has already been requested. This is something that I feel is needed. So sometimes i am flying a ship with a cargo rack with stuff in it, and then i want to quickly change to another ship due to what ever reason, but the new ship doesn't have cargo racks on so it means i can't change ships as stuff is transferred from one ship to another or I do a mission which gives cargo based rewards. Now i can't get more missions as i have stuff in my cargo racks which i now either have to sell or destroy. Major Frustration.

First Feature Idea: Implement a Cargo storage system in a station similar to the Ship or module storage. Can be limited to the station that has a hangar for ships and outfitting or something similar in that regard. Can also have a cargo tonnage limit just like ships and modules. However should not be transferable between stations like ships and Modules.

Second Feature Idea: Don't transfer cargo from one ship to another. If Ship A has cargo racks and it has cargo in it and ship B doesn't, it shouldn't matter. Keep cargo in Ship A Stored in Ship A just like Modules aren't transferred. Materials and Data can be transferred.

Would be cool if both ideas can be implemented as they are both very useful especially for traders. There is already the functionality available to do this with the ship hangar and module storage.

This would be a good option to have as there have been occassions when ideally I would have liked to swap ships to take up another role. I don't see why it couldn't be integrated into the game in the future.
 
Even if FD don't want to give players cargo storage, then at a minimum you should be able to store excess cargo "on the dock" while changing ships or receiving rewards. Any excess cargo would have to be cleared (sold or dumped) before you are allowed to leave, and you can't use this overflow when buying from the markets.

The original concept for Elite was a pilot and their ship, self contained. This position has been weakened as we have ship and module storage. Personally I would like more interaction with "places" in the game and storing stuff at a particular station is a sort of "home" - iff there is some effort to obtain and keep this priviledge, which may also be subject to minor faction changes...
