Wouldn't it be cool if you could put small stickers on your ships for the different places you've been to? Even more if you could name your ship and somehow have that shown on the hull. Just a thought.
At least stickers for the systems you need permissions for.. I don't think I'd be able to see out of my canopy with the amount of stations I've visited.
