Station Storage

It would be nice, once I've chosen a "home" station for a bit of bounty-hunting fun in a system, to be able to purchase cargo space at that station where I can squirrel away the things that fall out of my victims' cargo holds until an opportunity to sell or trade such assets (via bulletin board missions, for instance) comes along.

Storage for items other than ships (empty of cargo) on stations has been dismissed by Frontier as it would encourage hoarding and long term price speculation - not in-keeping with the real-time trading nature of the game.

Yeah, I agree on commodities. But I suggest rather storage of ship modules / components so you can refit your vessels to suit the missions at hand or transfer replaced components to new ships. Related to this, if we don't have that - at least there should be a "taxi service" so that we can easily buy our way to our various assets which could span the galaxy in short order. I would like to explore very far, but I won't do it because I know I'll never fly back!

That can be balanced by charging a price for storage and by limiting the amount you can store.

Station storage space

I wouldn't mind being able to hire storage space at a station enabling me to stock up on certain goods, including illegal stuff (you can store that at a pirate station for example). Generally stuff I know will come in handy at some point such as a bulletin board mission when asked to get non-lethal weapons or something, I can just go get them from my storage rather than running around looking for them, it just makes things convenient when I see these things for sale I can get them then and simply hold onto them until needed.

You already can aquire storage :).

Buy a ship and put it into the hangar. The thing I cannot imagine currently is about transferring the cargo between ships .
But I am in clear doubt if this is finally wanted, because it would open up an exploit to block entire space stations by parked space holders.

Even if they will offer storage at stations one day, it will need a lot of rules around them (e.g. how many space at what cost and what limits).
Nevertheless a nice idea but maybe not supported by devs

Miklos

It's been suggested a hundred of times but developers don't want to do this because "it will unbalance the game" in some mysterious way.
Personally I'd say a place to store not only "illegal" cargo but also ship components (for example A-graded gear that won't fit your current ship) would be very convenient.

That's very disappointing to read, if something as simple as station storage can't be introduced as it upsets game mechanics then one has to wonder exactly what changes can be made, it sounds very limiting.
