The other day I dropped out of SC at my current "local" outpost and was surprised to find it allied to me. Checked the details and instead of being aligned to the local reigning independent faction it just said "Federation".
Left the instance. Came back. It was back to normal, not allied to me and correctly aligned to the local faction. Did my business at the station (flush, wash hands!) and then as I was leaving the FSD countdown was ticking, 3 ... 2 ... outpost turned green ... 1 ... what the?
I initially put this down to a bug. However, the controlling faction was marked as pending CIVIL UNREST. Was the control of the outpost actually swapping due to the unrest or was it a bug?
If it was a bug, perhaps this could explain some of the weird station deaths that people experience if the station can suddenly ally itself to a faction you're hostile with!
I did Shadowplay the incident but recently some of my recordings have been coming out all garbled (anyone know what that's about? also get a red cross through the SP icon) and this was one of them so I'm reluctant to upload it, but you can still just about tell what's going on if anyone wants "proof".
EDIT: All of my line spacing is screwed up - it looks fine in the editor but on-screen is all one paragraph - I apologise if that's how it looks to you too, but I can't seem to fix it!
