?? Station Turned HOSTILE while I was parked going through the Bulletin Board! How do I get out of here?

I am at TIOLCE / GORDON TERMINAL.

Was just picking up a Rare Item as part of my usual rounds when the music changed and now I see HOSTILE over my Fuel Gauge. I tried leaving once and got blown to bits by the Federal Security Ships. I am back inside the station now and am wondering how the hell do I get out of here?

I don't have much $$ left to buy another ASP. Should I buy a small ship and leave the ASP here for now? Will I be able to get it back if I do?

This is very strange! There was no warning that anything like this was about to happen, and I don't think I can clear the Mass Lock in time to jump out of here before I get blown up again.

I seem to be safe as long as I sit here on the pad.

Any help would be MOST APPRECIATED!

I must say that this game's lousy communication features seem to have really come to head with what I am dealing with now! :(

Did you just join a PP faction that is an enemy of the station you're in?

Nope. Looks like the station has been taken over by a different faction than it was under before. "Revolutionary Party of Tiolce". My Federation Reputation is NEUTRAL just like it is for EMPIRE and ALLIANCE.

I have not joined a faction yet. Listed as NONE on my right panel.

Nothing is showing up other than a DORMANT BOUNTY I have in another system (Future of Altair), but I am not near that system in Tiolce.

THIS SUCKS! :(

That you can find yourself in a Catch 22 situation like this, and the game providing ZERO WARNING that anything like this was about to happen! I could have left here way before this happened had I known something was brewing.

!

I suggest buy a Cobra sell gun's then buy A rated shield and Shield booster's and one or more SCB and then lightes Power Plantt hat will power everything then RLH if you can afford it.

I found a MUCH BETTER WAY than all that!

One thing I have learned through all these dozens of crashes is that if you crash while heading out of a station, when you reboot and reload the save, you are always back in space about 14kM AWAY from the station you were leaving. So...

I launched off the pad, put my gear up and SAVED and QUIT. When I reloaded the save, I was exactly there! Plenty of distance away from the HOSTILE station that I could calmly enter Super-Cruise and get the hell out of there! I then Jumped out of the system and am now safe.

That little incident only cost me over 3 MILLION CREDITS in a LOST ASP and 64t of RARE CARGO!

They really NEED TO FIX THIS! I understand that the various factions and whatnot are always in a state of FLUX, but players should ALWAYS be given SOME KIND OF WARNING that something is about to go down, so you have time to leave if you are going to be in danger. I was literally just sitting on the pad going through the bulletin board listings when the station Hologram went RED, the music changed to a combat type music and I saw the word "HOSTILE" above my Fuel Gauge panel.

NO warning at all, and that is complete and total ! Console gamers are going to have a fit when this happens to them! And if I hadn't been sitting on over 7 million credits at the time, I could have very well lost my ship completely over this!

NOT GOOD!

NOT GOOD AT ALL!

Why bother going under 100km/s once outside the dock when you can boost like crazy and get to SC before you get a scan. It sounds like you asked to get the attention. Even if you are WANTED/HOSTILE they must scan you to make an attack so why hang around? It's normal and I wouldn't staick around to figure out what happened. Just get out alive!

You have absolutely NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!

Were you there? I was getting shot the second I came out of the slot. There was no scanning delay, they were on me instantly and I had boosted out of the station trying to get some speed to jump ASAP.

Probably just bug number 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 and 1.

The fact that you ca get caught in a situation like this is really the point here. Not how to escape a situation that should never be allowed to happen to a player in the first place.

Fortunately, my SAVE/QUIT idea worked. Now I know enough to NEVER stay inside a station any longer than you need to. If this happened once, it will likely happen again. 18 months on PC and this kind of idiocy is still in the game? WOW!

Im pledged to the feds and do rare trading in diso lave leesti all the time, being "hostile" as atm theses systems are empire domains. Chill :D

Different type uof hostile, it is wierd how both are called hostile but being hostile to "HIP whatever freedom party" get's you attacked on site in their domain.

This 'Revolutionary Party' that took over very well could be a criminal power in the system. If you've done any bounty hunting in or near the system and killed enough of that factions ships then they will see you as hostile even if the main faction in the area doesn't. I do agree with you however that they need to build some system into the game that allows you to leave a station without being targeted if it changes hands while you're docked.

there have been many situations in the world where innocent ppl have found themselves in the wrong place after a coup or some such ,yeah it sounds like a pain but happens. maybe they need some sort of consulate so you can talk to your ambassador about exit visa's.

I have a 'Hostile' rating at present in the the system around Diso, Leesti etc( probably being loyal to Winters lol) as well as a bounty that has 6 days to run it course. However I can't say I have had your misfortune. Add to that the fact I bounty hunt and slave trade....

Lol funny enough I'm labeled as hostile in many a system at this point but i still am able to come and go to them as I please without getting attacked. Though if you have a good shield as long as the station isn't shooting a you you should have ample time to leave before they cause any significant damage

Sorry, but it's things like this that make me like Elite even more. It's an unpredictable universe, and guess what? It's dangerous! I have arrived at docks where there is fighting going on and thought it might be best not to dock there. If you don't want to take risks then stick to safer, controlled systems or get better at realising when you might be flying into a war-zone.

One of the things that I'm liking most about Elite is the lack of a 'Virtual Nanny' to hold your hand. As a console gamer I am finding it so refreshing to have to learn as I go, being observant and by making some expensive mistakes!

For me, the only bug here is the one that allowed you to quit the game and load back in outside the dock.

I kind of agree with this statement in an unpredictable universe sh*t will happen. However if it is the way the game works and not a bug then there should be some sort of mechanism in place to allow the victim to get out such as bribing someone.
