Station with no planet

Well its not just sitting still in space, every thing is moving. If it's not orbiting a planet or a star it's orbiting the center of the galaxy. But I get what you mean =D

is it possible that the planet is there and you just haven't discovered it yet? Are you seeing it in person, or just on the system map?

It doesn't appear on the System Map, only in the Nav Panel.
Went there, completed a trade.

Apparently, they're extracting vacuum for a living.

It has a small orbit around nothing, 4000 ls away from the star which only has some close orbit asteroid clusters.

Ticket it. It's an occasional bug but they need it reported. My understanding is that the system isn't generating properly, so it will remain like that until fixed.

You do see stations and outposts (usually the latter) in direct orbit about stars sometimes but those show on the System map where a planet would be, as you'd expect, and show on their own orbit track as you'd expect.

Saw another thread about this recently
My theory about this, is that it maybe is located in the gravitational barycenter of two bodies, for example two binary stars. In this case, I think that the station would basically just sit in place, or orbit the barycenter in a short and fast orbit.

I would agree with you. I recently saw a system between Lave and Witchhaul which had a station orbiting the barycenter of a dual star system. Was gonna visit it, but I forgot to remember the name.

Walters Port in the Condovichs system (an independent communism near Achenar) is about 8,000 ls from the nav point and there is no planet in the system, just some asteroids. It does have an orbit but it isn't actually orbiting anything. The port doesn't show up on the system map either.
