Stations in the black?

Out in the black? There is no (known) stations beyond the Bubble (whether Maia is part of the bubble is another matter..., but that was a CG construct, so doesn't count).

There a a small number a few hundred light years out but that isn't really "the black". Past 1000LY there's nothing but what you take with you. I took wine!
The famous old Jaque used to have a travelling station,
but his engines on it seem to have broken down....

There are large sections of the galaxy reserved by Fdev via, currently, unobtainable travel permits. Some of these sections are several times larger than the Bubble. Who knows what we may find in there one day when Fdev opens them up.
Most of the Galaxy is empty. The Bubble of inhabited space extends out to about 200-300 LY from Sol, depending on which direction you go; there are no known stations more than 500 LY from Sol. There are a small number of stations scattered about in the 300 - 500 LY range; places like Maia, Sothis, Robigo, Fehu and Quince. For a full list, see Hooplah's list of stations outside the Bubble.

I hope they move Jaques Station into one of the pretty nebulae some thousand ly out. I'm quite surprised that they didn't move it along the DW expedition when they had the chance. Some lost potential there.

As a side note...one of the 'quests' I've set for myself is to find systems with stations/installations and a low population count. Smallest population I've found at the moment is a system with 3 planet side bases, and a total population of 7!
That was in the bubble, but out on the edge...not as far out as Sothis though. I think those 7 humans must be just maintenance crew, looking after automated repair & fuel depots on the stations....NOT a very friendly system either!...they must like their solitude.

Yo that would have been a great way of using existing assets.
I hope some of the explorers bring their exploration stuff to Jaque's,
maybe he is just missing explo data to jump to a new interesting system...

I'm returning from a sight seeing trip and was planning to do a small data dump at Jaques to see if anything happens.
That would be a good mechanic for Jaques'
