Yep - seen this before. It's a bug. FD may know about it but it would be wise to make a report.
I have a theory. You may have noticed that as you approach a station it may be moving off in one direction or another - usually slowly. And then when you get to within a certain distance it suddenly stops moving away and you find yourself flying directly at it and soon after that you get the indication that you can now drop out of supercruise. This is because you are always flying relative to something. This is necessary for the flight mechanics. In deep space your ship will be performing flight calculations relative to the nearest large mass. But as you approach the station at a certain point it becomes necessary for the ship to switch relative masses and there are certain observable consequences to this.
If this switch takes place properly then no problem and all you see is a slight change of movement of the station since you are now flying relative to it and therefore directly at it. But if something is wrong in the stored constants and variables of the station such as position, speed, and so on, then the calculations necessary to position you nicely when you drop out won't work and bizarre consequences result. In essence your ship is not calculating your speed relative to the station correctly since it is working with incorrect data.
FD need to know about this so they can check the parameters that relate to that particular installation and fix it. I'm sure it isn't a big deal - they just need to have it brought to their attention.
