Stations selling illegal goods?

It must be something i've completely missed and I'm probably being daft, but here goes: I just bought a boatload of imperial slaves in an imperial system under Zemina Torvals control (if that is of consequence). Then I undocked and left the station, got scanned and slapped with a hefty fine.

Why are stations selling obviously illegal goods like they're selling food? :)

As to the why I don't know, but this is happening quite frequently, indeed. I'd consider illegal goods illegal regardless of the market type you buy them.

Yes had this issue. Missions starts at a station where they are illegal and ends at a station where they are illegal.
Tricks to get into stations not scanned are well known, but I have had to figure out new ways to get out of stations before I am scanned :S

Yeah but this wasn't a mission of any kind, I simply bought the stuff at the station and got fined. It didn't even occurr to me that they might be illegal there in an imperial system, so I didn't check in the system map.

W4rSkuLL is probably right. :'D

I thought it odd too. The trading CG station at Antal, being a Utopian control system, has no black markets, yet openly sells standard Slaves (as well as buying Imperial Slaves). I think it's a cruel practical joke on behalf of the Simguru. ;)

If you check the station you bought them at you will probably find it is an Independant station. It is selling them because its in an exPloited system and the bonus is large quantities of cheap slaves. The stations local goverment still considers them illegal so you have to smuggle them out. Or check the system map first. I lost 1.8mill cr to this myself.

Hello Sir,

As far as I can see, Antal shuts down black markets. He doesn't actually stop the trade of illegal goods. Illegal goods just become tradeable on the normal market and his tax man get a cut and if you are caught you pay a hefty fine. He wins both ways. Clever chap. And you can export the illegal goods out of the conro l system to a near by black market that's exploited and if you get away with you get an addtional 10 percent on top. So the rumor goes....

Your Chum Ben,

Good luck with the CG at Antal. You can get metals in the same system from the local out post 300 light seconds away and make a profit, Wagner outpost.

So far lining up properly and boosting my way out has worked 100%, I'm doing a lot of these missions with an asp.

Its even more "funny" in Federation, since you can buy normal Slaves and sell sell both types of Slaves on the normal Commodity Market on some Stations in Fed Space which are owned by Federation faction and controlled by a Federation power.
I made a ticket for this last weekend but FD seems to be fine with it, since they still dont have fixed it. Makes absolutely no sense to me but I have given up to understand what FD ist planning with this game, since so many decisions in the last time make absolutely no sense to me.

They ave totally messed up illegal trade

1, Black Market on Galaxy Map? Dumb
2. Smuggling Nerfs - Worse than ever - All risk no reward. My last fine was 0.5m for a potential profit of 110,000, plus rep loss.
3. The Normal Market is a mess with illegal goods on sale / purchase on the normal markets

I could go on and if anyone is to blame for the state of the game it's not David (he's just the CEO) it's the (Exec Producer and Head of Development)

Since 1.3, nearly every part of the game had been invaded by armies of bugs and parts without bugs were screwed up by design decisions/hotfixes afterwards.
But the most funnies part for me is: I still have fun and enjoy playing Elite. Isn't that strange ? ;)

Ive got a felling this might be working as intended kinda. The powers make the goods illegal but they can not stop the sale. Like in real life. Buying marijuana and owning seeds is legal. Cultivating them is illegal.

this happened to me too, i just bought the game for my friend, and we met up at a station and i thought i would give him a helping hand and buy some stuff meet him outside the station, drop the cargo so he could scoop and sell, unfortunately i loaded up with imperial slaves and boosted out of the station (as i usually do) dropped some cargo, and when my friend went to sell it he got scanned on entry and got hit with a fine. it was only after i checked the sytem map and found they were prohibited. but i couldnt understand why they would sell those in the commodities market.

I also been caught out with this also leaving me with a fine of nearly 1 mill cr each time. When the counter nearly runs out I will leave the system and never return, it worth the risk as atm am making nearly 800k per run.

Hey Ari,

This was a bug in 1.3.05 but this should now have been resolved in 1.3.06. Just to let you know Ari that if you come across any issues which you believe maybe a bug, please don't be shy and post it on our Bug Reporting Discussion section (Link Here). We look forward to seeing you there. :)

You should have seen my face when I loaded my Type-9 with 492 tons of Imperial Slaves, and then as I left the station I got hit with a 2.5 Million CR fine. I'm not paying it.
