Stations should only show friends and wings. No more ramming if we are zoned when we enter.

Except people scanning ships INSIDE THE STATION, there is no gameplay issue there.

If it was up to me I would change it slightly. I would make it so that unless you have direct line of sight then you can't scan things. Enemy ships going behind an asteroid should force you to lose weapons / scan lock, just like going inside a massive thick metal box should also shield you (if you're outside and have no direct line of sight that is - peeking through the letter box is fine)

For me this change would open up game play and introduce new tactics / skills : You could hide behind things, remain hidden and use "spotters" (other players) to lure prey to your area, or use structures / objects to your advantage if being chased and need to escape. I know that objects stop weapons fire but forcing them to vanish off the radar too would increase the tension for me. (Think Star Trek : Wrath of Khan at the end where Kirk and Khan were fighting inside the nebula cloud - they can't see each other on the scanner so need to use their wits and skill. The only flaw in this scenario was the "advanced intellect" of Khan not being able to extrapolate into 3D - oh the shame for him :D)

It's considered assault so if you ram someone you get spaced by the station. It's not a petty fine. If you're in a ship large enough to cause significant damage to others via ramming, you're likely to take a hard hit to the wallet.

Unless something has changed, the station weapons are a joke. I tested to see if I could fire out through the letterbox from within the station a while back and just get a no fire zone fine. The whole station opened up on me, so I boosted out. Not a scratch on the hull, and that was a sidewinder. I'd love to see how much damage a Conda with 8 shield booster can soak up.

Yes, I do see that, I have seen that, but your solution is one of the worst that's been offered up. There is already a solution for this problem in the pipe. You are thinking in absolutes. I have slipped up and lost everything and while it sucked, and the insurance system could be a bit more reasonable, the bottom line is I made a bad call in the first place. There shouldn't be an all encompassing safety net.

The only thing that will happen with that solution is people crying about ramming someone by accident while doing that trade route for the 125th time and getting blow-up because a sidewinder flew in the gate without looking.

Anyways, we'll see all about it in a few weeks, until then I hope you all have a lot of fun! We need more people in the game too so tell your friends to get the game already! 4 of my friends are joining the game later tonight :D

Aye, I agree with this. It'd give wings another advantage; shared locational data would potentially let you see ships that you couldn't have otherwise seen if your mate didn't have eyes on him.

Bottom line here: fly slower.

I'll just say that if you let the door open, don't expect trolls to not enter.
But I can only wait and see. I still believe MAXIMUM SPEED and FINES are not the solution but what do I know I guess.

People are not gonna slow down that much. Just farm for your ANACONDA and look how much time it takes to get it. Now, do it all SLOWER...
My bottom line here is wait and see...

There are plenty of people in game. It is the poorly designed/implemented auto instancing with no ability to manually change instances that is the problem.

Your solution to being rammed is one that will never happen as it is already in game...if you want an instance you don't see other players except your friends and wingmates go to group/solo. It is very easy to kit your ship so these station rammers are not an issue. If you don't want to do that, there is always group or solo play to avoid them entirely.
