Status of the BGS

Put it this way. If your FSD worked like the BGS does now, every jump would take you to a random system within range but never the one you had selected.

All our testing has shown that what worked yesterday will either not work today or will have the opposite effect. It's been a rather frustrating couple of months in our neck of the woods. :(

Doing boom time delivery missions and poll data couriers seems to work fine for elections (just doing the delivery missions as they pay sweet money where I am active with my alt).

My general observation is that Boom state really speeds up inf gains for deliveries a lot. In contrast to that source and return seem to reduce the influence of the target faction. Can anyone confirm that?

Not sure about that, rely on source and returns heavily for increasing our factions influence and seems to have been having the desired effect for us.

UPDATE from me and my group:
-wars and CZ: work.
-elections: work. (doing only poll data missions, the others seem not to work or do the opposite!)
-expansions: will tell in 4 days at the end of our first 3.3 expansion!
-retreat: it's harder now to obtain IMO.... very difficult to put a faction under 2.5%.... don't want to think a bout a bug by now. We are trying for a second time against a npc faction. Will tell in 2 days.
-civil unrest, lockdown: don't work. Security bar don't go under "none" state.

This is only my feedback, of course.

-retreat: doesn't work.
we failed our second attempt to put a npc faction in retreat. Same as the first time: first two days of retreat after a war 1%; lots of missions/passengers against. Third day inexplicably 6.5%. Fourth day other missions/passengers against 4.9%. Fifth day other missions/passengers against 4.4%. Sixth day end retreat 6.4%.

And..... almost sure that no CMDRs have interest in that System against us!

Low population: 171464.

Regarding CZ, can't say with 100% certainty but we seem to see a consistent pattern:
If we take massacre missions, the opposition wins no matter what we do.
Omitting the massacre missions, the conflict evolves more or less as expected based on our activity.

We haven't had a war since the last patch though and even if we did, I'm sure we wouldn't dare to try the missions again

For me, currently for conflicts the way is:
-electiosns: only poll data missions
-wars: only combat in CZ and no massacre (as you say! ;))
