Status pf progress / Horizons --> Odyssey

Hello fellow Commanders,

just because I'm curious:
If I "upgrade" from Horizons to Odyssey what would happen to my player-statistics?
Would I get an Elite I-V rank directly after logging into the game (because I was trading and exploring a lot)?
Would I start from scratch (which means from zero after my ranks in Horizons)?

Not that I'm very in the stats (I can't even brag about having triple Elite, because I don't have it ;-)), the topic came up in a discussion with my best friend and both of us didn't know the answer.

You'll keep your current stats, but the cap above Elite is removed, so you can continue ranking up to Elite I-V, but only in client 4.0. If you return to client 3.8, your ranks will be capped at Elite again, but only temporarily. You won't lose any progress.

I think Horizons 4.0 also allows ranks above Elite, so you don't need Odyssey for that. But you need Odyssey for the new exobiology and mercenary ranks which also go up all the way to Elite V.
