Staying away from black markets/illegal goods

Hello Commanders,

So, uh, this friend of mine, also an ED commander, was wondering if anyone had a list of black market offices around the Beta Sphere. You know, so he'd know which stations to avoid so he wouldn't get mixed up in the wrong crowd.

He'd also like to know, uh, if there was a list of specific goods which were considered "illegal" by the Federation, just so he could make sure he didn't accidentally pick up the wrong kind of cargo while dealing with the wrong crowd. That is, if places existed where illegal goods could be bought and not just sold. Which I'm sure they don't, because that'd be against the law.

Cuz, uh, the last thing my friend wants to do, uh, is to get in to trouble with the Federation.

The LAST thing.

All cleverness aside, does anybody know of a station where illegal goods can be purchased, as opposed to scooping stolen goods? I've hit up the anarchy systems and the black market offices I know of. Nobody's sellin'...

Tyler Durden: "Oh I get it, it's very clever."
Narrator: "Thank you."
Tyler Durden: "How's that working out for you?"
Narrator: "What?"
Tyler Durden: "Being clever."
Narrator: "Great."

I think I remember seeing some kind of weapons for sale at the commodities market at Freeport, and I'm pretty sure they would be illegal in the Federation. The black markets doesn't sell anything, at least currently - they only buy illegal or stolen goods. Maybe you could buy those weapons at Freeport and smuggle them to the freedom fighters in Eranin.

Personal weapons, but I don't think those are illegal. Thought for sure those commie hippies down at the Vonarburg Co-op would at least be selling weed or something. But all the black markets seem to be buying but not selling, even weapons. Which means all those NPC's losing illegal goods in the USS's have been jumping in from outside the Beta Bubble, the cheaters...

You buy them legaly on one station but sell them illegaly on another.
A very common mistake done by commanders is they think because they bought it from the commodities in one station that automaticaly makes it legal in the destination station. Not the case and boom dead on arrival when scanned.

Got a specific example in the beta? I know in the earlier Elite games things like narcotics and slaves were readily available in anarchy systems, but illegal in controlled space like you describe. But (so far) in the beta, I've yet to run across anything actually being sold on a market that was illegal. I've seen a few unusual commodities like reactive armor and even tobacco but so far have not been busted for carrying them. (I carted a load of tobacco around Fed space expecting to get wasted for violating a smoking ban. No such luck.)

I'm starting to think it's just not implemented yet and was wondering if anyone else had actually bought something that needed to be smuggled.

In earlier games (FE2, FFE) illegal goods was shown in the system map and this is not yet implemented in ED.. but it's coming... soon.
