Staying True To The Nostalgia Ship Design

As someone close to 50 and yes I remember the old game fondly, but I hope the nostalgia ships designs are a part of the new game immersion only. I hope as the game grows we move away from these ships into other designs. I am really excited for what ED is now, and this is not a flame of the game. I am very excited with state of the game now, and I am enjoying it very much. I just hope the game developers do not say it has only been 45 years in game lore since elite so not much has changed in ship platforms. One thing I love about that space game from those Icelanders is there is 5 races and roughly 250 ships. So much choice from frigates to capitals ships with very different ship styling and yes I know they are two different games. personally for me I fly style and looks every time over ship performance (min/max). Agreed. I think the level of detail we see in those current ships, the hauler looks awesome, and the sleekness given to the empire ships lends to the fact that we are in for some nice designs.

I agree with the OP, there should be loads more ships from loads of different manufacturers and even custom versions of those from other manufacturers, I have no doubt there will be a lot more ships.

25 ships will be there on launch. One of the things discussed in the Future of Elite video was more ships.

And I like the nostalgia ships!

Ya JeffRyan right. Right now that the ships we get. Some are new like the Dolphin and Ocra which are Passenger ships. A lot more we don't know about.

I totally agree with you OP, even in it's current state, I could perfectly play the game perfectly enjoy it as a full worthy game already unlike many others, but I'm also one of those guys that go Style>Efficiency when it comes to what I use.

so seeing a different variety of styles, even though not "space realistic" in terms of wings and unnecessary aerodynamics wouldn't bother me at all per say, but that's my opinion ^^
