Hello. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how I might go about building a stealth ship. I've been told that the DBS can potentially be effective in this manner, but as someone who has no experience at all with silent running, I'm not sure how one would begin.

The DB-S is a great starting point as it runs cool from stock, the hard bit is getting your head around no shields as they boost thermal signature significantly, also look at C grade equipment I think it's intended to be cool running, weapons m-cannons or cannons are probably the best from heat generation perspective (check the thermal load) also check youtube I think there are vids on stealth combat.

Hello, thanks for the feedback. I'll look for more info' on YouTube, and thanks for the build on Coriolis. :)

In a stealth build you want an A rated powerplant for maximum heat efficiency, but in the diamondback, you can downsize to a 3A or even a 2a, depending on your build. Normal heat mainly seems to be based on power usage, so pick stuff that uses as little power as possible to stay in silent running longer. You still need to fight and maneuver (maybe not fight if you're smuggling) so you still probably want the best thrusters and distributor you can get, life support can be D, sensors can be D, although some prefer A, and they don't use too much power. FSD can probably be D in a DBS, you should still get at least 13 LY range or more.
