Stealth setup for smuggling?

Hello Cmdrs
I have been doing long haul cargo missions from Aditi in my Cutter, and quite fancy trying some the smuggling missions.
My question is: Does a Stealth setup still work for smuggling, or is it a case of fast as possible through the letterbox?
I have setup an Asp running: A3 Shield, multi cannons, mines(lots of mines), chaff, point defense and heat sinks. Both the heat sinks and silent running are hot keyed to my throttle.

Any advice on setup or tactics would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

the only time you need cold running/silent running is if you smuggle to a military outposts or to a surface port (where there is no letterbox).

works nicely though!

Thanks for the reply goemon.
Hadn't thought about surface bases, but that makes a lot of sense.

Thanks again

I find it makes little difference the setup you have. Just turning on silent running and using some heat sinks gets you into pretty well anywhere, smuggling is a little too easy in this game I find.

I wouldn't try smuggling in a Cutter ;)
Here's my smuggler ship

The PVH and ADS are optional - I'm an explorer at heart.
Chaff and heatsinks are not optional IMHO I find them more effective (and less dangerous) than silent running to avoid scans when racing through letterboxes.
Also IMHO the A-rated sensors are not optional. It lets you see who's in the area from much farther away. Stations can't scan you. Only ships can scan you.

Have not needed a silent build for my conda, and i smuggle maybe 3-4 out of 10-15 missions that i stack, have not had any planet landings yet tho. Just pont aim and boost, thru slot drop landing gear and let DC do the rest.
