Steam Achievement stats are... Interesting

19.3% of people have released a Spinosaurus!?

42.7% have released a T-REX!!??

Are... Are people actually playing this game?

I've just Five-Starred RTJP's Nublar and it says 0.01% of people have unlocked the achievement for that? What's going on?

Probably a lot of people that have started playing the game but haven't finished it and never came back.
This is nothing special on Steam. It happens to most games. Only niche narrative games generally have a fairly high completion rate it seems.

But over 50% of those who bought it never even released a T. rex!!!!! Why'd they even buy it then?

Yeah you think it would be close to 70 or 80 percent. How do you play Jurassic world evolution and not release the most famous dinosaur in the franchise.

Lots of reasons; they might have bought the game and not liked it so never went any further, real life might've gotten in the way (moving house/going to university/having kids etc etc.), other games might have come out that they wanted to play instead and so JPE slipped down their list of priorities and they haven't come back to it, their computer/console may have been damaged/lost etc. Like Trilobite said, it's pretty rare for even the most common achievements/trophies to not have a full 100% completion on most games. I don't think I've ever seen a trophy on any game at 100%, no matter how simple to obtain it may be.

The player base on Steam did decrease a lot. The percentage of certain later achievements match the recente numbers of average players.
