Why are there no Steam achievements?
The console peasants have achievements bless them but no Steam achievements?

I have asked this before of FDev, and they have always answered that there are no plans to introduce Steam achievements. Maybe because they would have to try to backtrack everything a player has done in the game since 2014, which would be quite a task, and award achievements retroactively.

Thankfully that pointless fluff is only on the consoles.
I don't need to blindly follow a 'checklist' of things to do in a game, I have a brain I can set my own aims and goals thank you.
So is reaching ranks or putting your name on a planet in ED, vanity stuff.
And right now a whole lot of people are loosing their marbles over exactly that.
OK, you could say Elite doesn't need Steam achievements, it already has them incorporated in the game.

Which are incorporated in the lore of the game world and not gameplay trophies for scanning 1000 stars or doing the Kessel Run within 12 parsecs. I also don't really get why people are losing their marbles about ranking up and that kind of stuff as well.
It's nice to finally hit Elite in one of the ranks, and actually I have two of those, but after about 3 years of playing.
