Are steam gift card numbers good for other countries too or yes the country you buy it in.

I want to do a give away to a friend but what if in his country the numbers are not valid...

Steam digital gift cards should not have country limits. Steam wallet codes usually don't have limitations but in some Asian countries do.

Not anymore due to scams, they are tied to local currency.

The digital gift card you purchased will automatically be converted into your friend's currency.
