Steam in home streaming

I haven't tried it with Planet Coaster, but did with some other games. The image quality was pretty good. I did notice some slight input lag but that won't really be a problem for a game like Planet Coaster.

Thanks guys, Good to know.

I am an iMac guy, but Planet Coaster has caused me to be in bootcamp most of the time. I was thinking of getting a windows only box to stream the game from there to my mac, so I don't have to bootcamp anymore. I would just set it up right next to it, so wired for sure. I'll probably do it by end of year, when my hardware cant handle my ridiculous parks anymore [haha]

Sounds awesome! When i tried it I was streaming from my desktop (wired connection) to my laptop which was on wifi so that could explain the tiny bit of input lag. Note that I was playing an online shooter so in that case even having a little bit of input lag will be very noticeable.

In-home streaming works very well actually, I use it all the time. Both ends of the line are wired in my case though, and I mostly stream games that are designed for controllers, which are already more forgiving on input lag. I play PlanCo remotely every now and then; and I did notice that Steam is trying to compress scenes that have a lot of similar looking areas, like the flat grassland or skybox. There I noticed some minor artifacts like you see in overly compressed jpeg images. However, I think this behaviour might also be a result of the game not being able to maintain 60fps and Steam trying to catch up by lowering the steaming quality. Which won't help of course, the problem is on the host PC that can't handle my densely built park.
