Steam Link

I have done, but mostly I don't.
I've not tried a HOTAS on it, but mouse, keyboard etc work fine so I'd be rather surprised if not.
The steam controller works with elite too...

I saw thread that told how to get joystick work with steam link so why not hotas. I haven´t used steam link (don´t have one) but i have used steams in home streaming. Gaming pc streaming game to my laptop (that has no hope to run elite) via steam client and it worked fine and i didn´t have any issues. I have also played ark survival evolved same way and it worked fine too. Just don´t use wlan.

Picked up a steam link and controller in the last two weeks. The hotas does not work at present but I saw a post on the steam forums saying it can work, google to see. I have found elite a bit troublesome to play as it seems to alt tab out of the game itself and I have to run upstairs to the gaming pc to sort it. At present I don't have the steam version of elite setup as I have always just launched for the launcher,I just added elite as a external game to my library and it launches fine but then after a while this problem arises so the jury is out. My other steam games seem to work fine. I also stream TV shows and films from the browser and it works so I think it's worth the 54 euro. Wireless keyboard and mouse also works.

Yeah that's not going to be an option. I run elite the same way, and I'm going to be laid up for a bit from back surgery so I was thinking of getting a link so I could keep playing while I was unable to make the journey upstairs to my PC. Guess I'll just have to try it and see.

Well it seems there is a work around to get the hotas to work, its just I haven`t had the time to play much or tackle it at the moment. The steam link will also work with an xbox controller if you plug in the usb wireless receiver for it. Also the steam controller is another good option and I have used it and it can be configured ad infinitum. The alt tab issue i`m sure can be sorted and when it works, it works fine. At the moment the router is connected via wireless to the pc upstairs but I am going to run a ethernet cable thru the ceiling in the corner behind the router and tv which should improve things as the link is connected via cable to the router. I think if you have the steam controller the link is definitely worth the money for streaming movies plus the controller is ideal to play those strategy games and such at a distance on the big screen, also works well with the galaxy map.

Unfortunately I've got very little positive to say about the Steam Link. When it can't even stream Undertale on a quiet gigabit LAN from a quiet computer without hitching and stuttering...

Don't bother trying to play ED on it. Not worth the hassle.

HOTAS should theoretically work. The new BETA build of steam link has an option to allow a USB port to be emulated over the net work to your PC.

It's how I got my XBox one wireless controller to work with the steam link.

I only have a standard skyhub router and never had any stutter playing elite and thats via wireless to the pc.
