Game Discussions Steam pedantic over minor differences in policy, not really LISTENING, to my late-to-hear-about Lemnis Gate being all-but-completely disabled. Help!

OK, long story short,.. Steam/Valve's got it's policies,.. yep... whatever. one WILL make mistakes, by their choices, if one does not keep it mind.

no point in disagreeing about that.

------------

HOWEVER,
there are also,..

BASE, Point-of-SALE,..

...reasonable expectations, of the multiplayer / online play, of a game that was HEAVILY ADVERTISED, as facilitating online "LAN" play,

which was in actuality... ONLY ONLINE,.. monitored,.. etc.... play,

and being a very late comer to the game, i think i've played through the walkthrough 3 times, and done the training vs bots thing where you're starting with the camera drone getting used to it's controls and then doing a striaght forward 1 vs. 1 versus bots....

4-6 times?

but literally never even succeeded in logging into the servers to get a matchmaking...

i am like... OK, so the news is telling me it was shut down soon after release,..

2 years?

Some people let the YEARS GO BY,
not just days, per the song.

No emails, no warnings, nothing. Just one day, my 50$ is down the drain, and i've barely got past getting settings set up.

---

... ugh... bad enough ... but where's the "LAN" play.

as in ... what that MEANS. = LOCAL (area network)

i.e. INTRANETS, for the less-exact-wordage inclined.

Frontier, i have NOT ENDED UP GETTING,
what i paid for,

of a "LAN" capable product.

-----

Introduce a patch,

or where's my money?

Steam are a bunch of inconsiderate a**holes... pedantic american denial/scamming/snake-oil-salesmen/etc-'maximisation' brats...
any 'excuse',.. and they'll leave you in the dirt, despite the false-promises on the refunds page, starting with "even if you just didn't like it" (a game)
bulllllll****

are you any better?

I hope so.

=========

Incidentally,
3.2 hours play,..
not that that was my reason-given,

but literally that-much. finito.
barely past getting settings set-up.

They've no idea how to accept a person's circumstances, DESPITE trusing in their own 🤨🤬 records of how much one has been able to USE the product.

Gimme some credit! :D ED-Arx will do! I'm a tightarse when it comes to them, unlikely to be spending much more on them anyway! :D

ooo. just noticed the incomplete grammar in the title. meant to be,

Steam pedantic over minor differences in policy, not really LISTENING, to my late-to-hear-about Lemnis Gate being all-but-completely disabled situation. Help!

rrrrmphh. changed it 1/2 way through, missed "situation"

re hours played / circumstances, i would be more than happy to provide PROOF, of how much i've not been able to play it - i.e. both as the PURCHASER, the original receipt ... no transfers or anything, no migrations, etc... where perhaps a person could wipe their hours-spent?

no no, original, AND time-spent, screenshots, if not also a video of it, if need be.

does one need to be sick or something? (for Valve/Steam to ) in that case i've been sick for 20 years. things like this will happen

If i could drive up to an office of theirs, and steal a chair or something out of the front-desk reception room, i would.
Or does most of the money,.. get back to YOU!

welll.... in that case it would be one of YOUR chairs!

haha!

aaaaaand,.. i'd deliberately choose one that looks like it's meant for some obese programmer,.. and while i'm at it... if there's any cans of anti-persperant sitting conspicuously on the front desk next to a slupee... i'd steal that as well!

screw you! :D

gimme gimme!
not fair 😣

selling TO Australians, at least, has to go by Point-of-SALE laws, contrary to Steam's utterly useless auto-response to refund requests, hasn't even been attended to by a human being, i don't think. nothing to suggest one has.

POS laws here define one being entitled by WHAT a product is.

i.e. "LAN" games, LAN multiplayer.

if it was a SERVICE, or SERVICE-dependent, condition, then that's not the PRODUCT, that's a time-exPIRATIVE, service, or eligibility.
(exPIRes) (by contrast, a product which will continue to handle LAN connections/games, is a TRUE LAN multiplayer. Whereas online-multiplayer-PLAY ... is "online play(multiplayer)". i.e. MISLABELLING, and here, at least, that INVALIDATES, the sale. )

the LAN multiplayer, was not "online-service or online-eligibility" SPECIFIED.

I'll give u an example, that oddly enough, OTHER americans, get RIGHT, by that definition.

'Season passes' ,.. are a periodic eligibility.

LeminsG,

was advertised as a LAN multiplayer PRODUCT... a OFFLINE install.
(well, installs that could handle PRIVATE networking - i.e. NOT hevavily monitored or matchmaking-HANDLED , so say, even if one had to only-INITIALLY log in - i.e. if we'd been able to log in, for more than pffff... 2 years? say,.. like... battlenet... you literally do not have to accept ANY responsibility,.. after that - one has to organise and configure, games, entirely, oneself)

boo boo!
